Every PDF carries a block of information that never appears on a page: who created it, with which software, when it was made and when it was last changed. Most people have no idea it is there, and it is frequently more revealing than the document itself.
This displays all of it - title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer applications, and both timestamps - along with structural facts like page count, page dimensions and whether the file is encrypted or linearised.
Worth checking before you send anything out. The author field often holds a full name or an internal username, and the producer field tells the recipient exactly which software your organisation runs.

What information does a PDF actually store?

Why does this matter?
Because it travels with the file. Author names, internal usernames and software versions are routinely disclosed by accident.
Is my file changed?
No. This tool only reads.
How do I remove what I find?
Use Edit Metadata to change specific fields, or Remove Metadata to strip everything.
