About This Tool
iPhones save photos as HEIC, and Windows and older Android devices frequently cannot open them. The photo you took of a document is fine on your phone and useless the moment you email it to someone on a work laptop.
This converts HEIC and HEIF files into a PDF that opens anywhere. HEIC uses HEVC compression, so decoding is genuinely different from JPEG - the tool handles it in the browser, without asking you to change your camera settings or install anything.
Multiple photos become multiple pages in the order you choose, which is what you want when the document you photographed ran to more than one sheet.
How to Use
Add your HEIC photos
Drop in up to 100 files. HEIF files work the same way.
Put them in order
Drag thumbnails. Photos of a multi-page document rarely sort correctly by filename.
Choose the page setup
Fit the page to each photo, or use A4 or Letter for a document that will be printed.
Convert and download
Save the PDF.
Use Cases
Sending photographed paperwork to a PC user
Four HEIC photos of a signed form become a PDF anyone can open.
Uploading to a portal that rejects HEIC
Most upload forms accept PDF and refuse HEIC outright.
Archiving iPhone photo sets
A trip or an inspection captured as HEIC, stored as one durable PDF.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can Windows not open HEIC files?
HEIC uses HEVC compression, which needs a codec Windows does not always ship. Converting sidesteps the problem entirely.
Is quality lost in conversion?
A small amount, since HEIC is decoded and re-embedded. At high quality the difference is not visible at normal viewing sizes.
Does this handle Live Photos?
The still frame is used. The motion component is not something a PDF page can hold.
Should I just change my iPhone camera setting instead?
Setting Camera to Most Compatible gives you JPEGs going forward, but does nothing for the HEIC photos already on the phone.
