Markdown is where technical writing actually happens - READMEs, runbooks, design docs, meeting notes. It is also plain text, so sending it to someone who does not read Markdown means sending them a file full of hash symbols and backticks.
This renders it properly. CommonMark and GitHub Flavoured Markdown are both supported, which means tables, task lists, strikethrough and fenced code blocks all work rather than appearing as literal punctuation. Code blocks get syntax highlighting by language.
Themes control the finished look - a clean document style for reports, a GitHub-like style for technical docs, or a compact style when you want it to fit on fewer pages. Headings become PDF bookmarks so long documents stay navigable.
